Summary: | The avant-garde of streetwear has broken into the fashion and culture industry nowadays. This movement has its roots in the countercultural movements that took place towards the end of the 20th century, such as punk, graffiti, skateboarding, and rap. In this project, a historical journey and a correlational analysis of these manifestations in the West are proposed, and mainly the way in which they affect the cultural scene of Bogotá and Medellín. From these movements, punk will be highlighted and mainly the way in which it has been transformed and has become structured in the mainstream culture and the capitalist commercial system. In this transformation, the nature of the countercultural gesture suffers from a loss of its ideological character that can be observed over time. In the proposal achieved, a vindication of countercultural gestures within the system is argued and seeks to find the value of confrontational design in commercial culture. |
