To be able to make a comparison between the snail's channel and the human one, it was necessary to applied the concepts given in an article published in 2004 by Marco Gruss and his group titled 'the two pore domain K+ channels TREK-I and TASK-3 are differentially modulated by copper and zinc". By following the above method we started modulating the lymnaea's channel by making two separate solutions, one of copper and another one of zinc. We wanted to see if the behaviour of the channel in the Lymnaea had the same features as in the human ones explained in the article.
