Summary: | The thesis laid out herein aims to analyze whether the legal framework covering employees' personal data collection from employers in Colombia is clear and looks to compare it to the European Union's framework. Such comparison with the system present in the European Union stems from the fact that such region has been a pioneer and an important reference in the field. Further, the EU has been chosen given that its centralized system resembles the one in Colombia when it comes to data treatment disposals. The methodology used was based on a thorough research on technical applications of data treatment in Colombia and the EU as well as legal precedents coming from Colombia?s courts as well as the European Court of Human Rights.
