Entre lo histórico y lo cívico

The present degree project focused on the development of a civic center in el Parque Sucre which consists of a market on the north side and a town hall with an integrated library and a social housing on the south side. The specific proposal of the project is based on the development of the south side of el Parque Sucre, I mean, the town hall, the social housing and the development of the park. Between the historical and the civic proposes the recovery of el Parque Sucre, also known as el parque de la 60 o el parque de los hippies, which is the foundational plaza of Chapinero and the nucleus of its development. Recalling that tradition is an act of complicity with the memory of the city, putting on the same scale of values all the sediments left by the history of a place achieving a synchronic thought and seeing the past as part of the present, I decided to carry out the implantation in el Parque Sucre mixing the history of the place with the civic character that manages to give it the town hall, the housing and the square.
