Description
Summary:We constantly inhabit a daily life and a reality that we rarely contradict. We think that life has always been like this and we are amazed by the facts and stories that surround in a different and disruptive way what we consider normal. We can take for granted the possibilities we have today, such as the fact of voting, of being able to work with a decent and fair wage or of studying whatever we want, of course if we have sufficient financial resources. We forget that a century ago many of these open doors were unthinkable. The struggles of our grandmothers are the living reflection of those fertile lands today. Lands that many times we do not have present and we believe are inherent to reality. We disconnect from history, from what it has done for us and for us. The ways and opportunities of being women have mutated and transformed to liberate who we really want to be. Many times this desire for freedom is hampered by stereotypes of a duty to be, both in being a woman and in feminism. Being a woman does not mean following a certain plan or a to-do list. Nor is it possible to define feminism in unique forms of struggle. Why compel a duty to be? For me, what it really means to be a woman are the multiple possibilities of being. So well, this project arises as a need to recognize the multiple women who inhabit me and those who do not, inspired by women around me. Women who have paid land and made me inhabit the women I really want. Thus my main objective will be to show and build the different women in which I conceive myself or live, thanks to the stories, the example, the challenges and the victories of external women who have passed through my life. This project links the mixed collage, under the concept of an installation.
