Summary:This study of qualitative design aimed to understand the social support of young women, victims of dating violence from the perspective of the victims' friends. The participants of the study were 12 female students of the Universidad de los Andes between the ages of 18-25. Semi-structural, virtual interviews were conducted due to the current pandemic situation and a thematic analysis was carried out. From this analysis, 11 categories were created: description of the relationship, knowledge of aggressive dynamics, initial reactions, support, passive attitude, factors that motivated their support, factors that facilitated the support, obstacles when supporting, feelings, the support that they would like if they were the ones involved in the aggressive relationship, and consequences. In general, participants provided emotional support to their friends by listening, looking out for them, not judging and reminding them how valuable they are.
