Bogotá is a city in a constant demographic growth bu with a very poor transportation system. The future construction of the elevated metro during the mayoral service of the actual mayor Enrique Peñalosa represents a valuable possibility not only to the mobility of the citizens but also to the urban development of the city. One of the stations planned upon the first metro line is the ?Hospitales? station located in the intersection of the carrera 13 and the calle primera de Mayo. That specific intersection is of special interest given that both the future metro station and the transmilenio station and four of the most important hospitals in the city, the San Juan De Dios hospital, the Santa Clara hospital, the OMI and the Maternal Hospital converge in this point. Currently, the crisis in the health system is one of the biggest problems that the country faces today since there is a visible overcrowding in public hospitals. It is for this reason that in the selected area I proposed a unifying project that serves to integrate and complement the activities of the four hospitals to generate a health center that functions at a metropolitan scale and also serves as an urban and mobility node . For this purpose, the specialties of the hospitals and their respective deficiencies were taken into account, so that a specific program could be established that would lead to an architectural typology based on the analysis of different national and international cases of study, mainly the preliminary project of city health proposed by the government in an early stage. |
