Description
Summary:The present study had two objectives: (1) To evaluate to what extent the participants of the Recupera la confianza program achieve significant changes in the cognitive variables that are evaluated on centrality of the event, central beliefs and decision to forgive; and (2) piloting three evaluation instruments that are indicators of recovery after an infidelity, in order to analyze their psychometric properties and see the possibility of adding them to the program's evaluation instrument package. In general, the results of the first objective indicate that the participants improved significantly on the centrality of the event and Decision to forgive scales of the pre-post measurement and the pre-follow-up measurement (6 weeks after the intervention ended). In the case of the central beliefs scale scores, it was found that the program did not influence these results, since the participants before starting the program already showed signs of post-traumatic growth related to this, and they maintained them in the post and in the follow- up. Regarding the results focused on the second objective, it was stated that the instruments, in general, have adequate psychometric properties, so it was decided to add them to the intervention program and have new indicators of post-traumatic growth.
