Description
Summary:The purpose of the research is to understand the opinions and perspectives of four public school English teachers in Bogota on the National Bilingualism Program. The interviews shone a light of what these teachers think of the policy and allow an analysis based on previous research on the topic, mainly the issues that had highlighted by other authors. The investigation showed that there has not been a significant change over the last 20 years, as teachers are still facing a shortage of resources, the necessity to overwork in order to adapt the materials for students, and not having enough time nor motivation to participate on the workshops. This allows the reader to see that the Ministry of Education and the international institutions that participate in the development of the bilingualism program must improve their approach to the issues of English teaching in the country.
