Summary: | This project develops an AMI communication framework for GridTeractions, a simulation tool for controlling distribution power systems. There is a current interest worldwide in developing Smart Grids, but they require an AMI backbone which this project tries to recreate within a simulation environment. Smart Meter to Data Concentrator Unit (DCU) communication was implemented using DLMS/COSEM as application layer, as well as DCU module was created and some adjustments to the tool were done in order to reproduce the behaviour of AMI in a real scenario. Smart Meter module already defined was modified to enhance its capability for AMI applications and to simulate behaviour of a real Smart Meter in order to allow Hardware In the Loop simulations concerning AMI in GridTeractions |
