The methodology used in the first part is a design of experiments and an adjustment of the regression model from based on a maximum likelihood model. For the second part, an adjustment was made to the data to evaluate the radius from the cut profile plots and a functional regression model was applied. In the second part, the data was adjusted in order to evaluate the radius based on the cut-profile-plots, and a functional regression model was applied.En este trabajo se presenta la metodología aplicada para desarrollar un análisis estadístico de la microestructura en el mecanizado del níquel. El trabajo se divide en dos partes, una de ellas está enfocada en analizar la microestructura (subgrain size y misorientation) a partir del "rake angle" y "cutting speed"; en la segunda parte se evalúa la microestructura a partir del "nose tool radius", la metodología utilizada en la primera parte es un diseño de experimentos y un ajuste del modelo de regresión a partir de un modelo de máxima verosimilitud.
