| Summary: | Mobility has become an interesting area for the economics of transportation. Therefore, it is important to understand the dynamics about public transport services and how they affect the welfare of users. This paper attempts to contribute to the analysis of the dynamics of travel in public transportation in Bogotá, especially focusing on determining the monetary value that users would willingness to pay for saving travel time in public transportation. To calculate it, it was estimated by the methodology of the subjective value of the time. The analysis indicated that the willingness to pay for the users is COP $ 109 for reducing one minute of the waiting time in Transmilenio stations. This analysis can be contributing to the develop a public policy that allow improve the welfare of the passengers that use mass transit. |
