In the present study, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model is implemented in order to simulate the dynamics of the flow (in hover condition) around the 4 propellers typically used in commercial quadcopters. The model was to simulate the interaction of the wake of the four rotors using symmetric boundary conditions. Numerical results show the capabilities of the CFD model to predict lift and torque coefficients of the propeller. La comprensión de la aerodinámica de los UAV en especial de su sistema de propulsión se han convertido en un importante campo de investigación en los últimos años. En el presente estudio, se implementa un modelo de Dinámica de Fluidos Computacional (CFD) para simular la dinámica del flujo (en condición de hover) alrededor de las 4 hélices usadas típicamente en cuadricópteros comerciales.
