Description
Summary:The Industry 4.0 trend inside manufacturing represents a high potential of research with the goal of introducing better reactivity to unexpected events and higher optimization of down times during breakdown or maintenance activities in the physical assets of a production line. For this purpose, the development of Digital Twins inside manufacturing systems seems an ideal step into enhancing these production lines with the capability to self-monitor and self-operate. Moreover, the support of theses monitoring activities with the use of a State Assessment module inside the DT of a production system and its design, testing and validation through the use of Virtual Commissioning represents a desirable and not much researched field yet, which is the reason for this project to continue the exploiting of the benefits of Virtual Commissioning inside the DTs trend inside manufacturing.
