| Summary: | This paper presents a literature review about sustainable construction in Colombia, Brazil, United States and United Kingdom. The investigation is first focused on the rules that are being used in Colombia nowadays (Decreto 1285, Resolución 0549, Guía de construcción sostenible para el ahorro de agua y energía en edificaciones). Then, the research was conducted to studies that complement and improve the present laws, this will allow the country to be more updated regarding sustainable construction. Additionally, in order to be able to learn from other countries? policies, their certification process is analyzed by showing the score system and evaluation methods used to certify a building. Finally, the different policies are compared to each other with the purpose of analyzing the Colombian case (what is missing) and being able to understand the current situation of environmental policies. |
