For this, a review made on 4 cognitive mechanisms (emotional dysregulation, cognitive load, self-control and self- efficacy [new]), and the effect of these cognitive mechanisms, both in their traits and in their state fluctuations, on the achievement of a specific value task is evaluated: a partial examination of the participating students. It is found that state changes in self-efficacy, self- control, cognitive load and emotional dysregulation tend to be related to each other. Also, the data show that trait cognitive load plays an important role in explaining the level of achievement in value tasks, as well as past achievement in similar tasks and the socioeconomic status of the participants. Although the objective is to shed light on the relationships presented with respect to the poverty trap, it recognizes that the approach is still limited, given: the population chosen, the measurement and data analysis techniques used. It is recommended for future studies to strengthen the research design used to continue exploring, more adequately, the role of cognitive mechanisms in the perpetuation or exit of poverty traps.Self control in Context project, financed by John Templeton FoundationPsicólogoPregrado40 páginasapplication/pdfengUniversidad de los AndesPsicologíaFacultad de Ciencias SocialesDepartamento de PsicologíaRole of (self-efficacy and other) cognitive mechanisms in achieving valuable tasks: an approach to perpetuating poverty trapsRol de (la autoeficacia y otros) mecanismos cognitivos en el logro de tareas de valor: una aproximación a la perpetuación de trampas de pobrezaTrabajo de grado - Pregradoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersionhttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fTexthttp://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/TPPoverty trapsAcademic achievementEgo depletionCognitive loadBandwidthPovertySelf efficacyStress-emotional regulationPsicologíaAdler, N.
