Summary: | "The financial industry has been evolving throughout history, implementing technology in their daily processes. 5 years ago it was inconceivable to manage something as sensitive as money, with small or zero interaction between the client and a bank representative, but this today is possible because of emerging technologies that enable trustworthy and automated security verification. Traditional banks have been forced to adapt themselves to the changes in the industry and the newcomers step in with a fresh and innovative proposal, they both share the goal of satisfying a client that is also evolving and becoming more exigent and who gathers more power and financial autonomy. Thus, a new business model has emerged, financial technologies, better known as Fintechs. These have a huge tech component in their operations, and their biggest advantage is the freedom that they deliver to the client. These new business have helped increase the coverage of banking services, by giving access to a population that didn?t meet the requirements before. Throughout this document, we will analyze the concept of digital banking, using as framework the business model of NuBank, the first 100% digital bank in the world, born in brasil and co-founded by the colombian entrepreneur David Velez. This analysis will serve to understand the differences between the business models of traditional and digital banking. Furthermore, we will analyze the case of a colombian Fintech, which we will call FC, with the goal of understanding the first stages in the development of a Fintech, their motivations and expectations to help them achieve the goal of opening a new line of business."--Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado. |
