Description
Summary:This study evaluates web accessibility of three Colombian government websites—Bogotá City Hall, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Education—using mixed-method research techniques. By combining quantitative and qualitative assessments from a diverse group of users, the research reveals significant variations in digital inclusivity and user experience. Findings highlight initial accessibility efforts alongside substantial implementation challenges, including inconsistent navigation, limited multilingual support, and incomplete high contrast features. While the three websites demonstrate potential, several improvements are needed to create truly inclusive digital platforms. The study concludes that government websites must prioritize comprehensive accessibility strategies, focusing on user-centred design that meets diverse user needs, particularly for individuals with physical or mental disabilities and older populations.
