This device has the capability to generate blast waves by injecting gas to a chamber which has a membrane at the end, that at the required pressure will burst creating the wanting shock wave that travels thru another chamber. Therefore this process has the advantage be relatively cheap as it only requires gas. The objective of this project is the development of the high pressure section involving the selection of the correct materials to endure the working pressure that the university facilities can achieve, the subsequent construction of the chamber and the study...Entender el comportamiento de los materiales cuando se les es aplicada una carga explosiva puede permitir el desarrollo de materiales más resistentes, cuyas aplicaciones pueden extenderse desde el uso militar hasta el uso civil. Existen diferentes métodos y dispositivos que pueden ser usados para analizar este comportamiento, de los cuales uno de estos es el tubo de choque. Este sistema tiene la capacidad de generar ondas de choque por medio de la inyección de gas a una sección del tubo con una membrana en su extremo la cual estalla al llegar a una presión crítica establecida, creando la onda deseada. Por lo tanto este proceso tiene la ventaja de ser relativamente económico ya que solo requiere el uso de gas para ser efectuado.
