Summary: | This thesis develops a new design methodology for the energy management of terrain electric vehicles powered by ultracapacitors (UCaps), which are used as energy storage in massive transport vehicles. The proposed methodology designs a propulsion system adjusted to particular energy requirements associated with the environment of use of the vehicle. For this, a methodology is defined for the determination of a driving cycle inherent to the vehicle under study that allows to obtain a more precise energy requirement. Subsequently, the methodology designs the topology for the most appropriate propulsion system with the best combination of components, which allows to reduce the energy losses in the engine and increase the autonomy of driving. Finally the methodology develops an experimental model of the electromechanical system of propulsion to scale, which allows to start and verify the effectiveness of energy management methods, directly in a test bed, at the lowest possible economic cost... |
