Description
Summary:The páramo ecosystems are located in the Central and South American regions, in which they make up an uninterrupted corridor. These ecosystems of great importance for the quality of human life, provide different provision, regulation, support and cultural services to the surrounding communities, as well as to entire regions. However, these ecosystems are also exposed to environmental effects due to processes of agriculture, mining, deforestation and climate change. The main objective of this document is to develop a bibliographic review in which the different legal actions regarding the management and conservation of páramo ecosystems are observed. This is based on a historical account of national and international actions carried out by different entities, governments or organizations.
