Description
Summary:Chronic and acute renal deficiency are a global clinical problem associated with a high mortality rate. Research in this topic is essential to develop new therapeutic strategies that allow the functional kidney restoration. More than 10,000 research articles from the last 20 years referenced in Pubmed, Google Scholar, y Science Direct. The main purpose of this documental research is the review and analysis of advanced studies in nephron regeneration from a cellular perspective. Thus the main findings related to cellular and molecular response after kidney injury, particularly of podocytes and tubular cells, as well as the role of key organelles in the regenerative process and mechanisms such as dedifferentiation, apoptosis and autophagy.
