Este texto consiste en hacer un recuento de los valores sociales, familiares, religiosos y estéticos que me moldearon como mujer. Aborda la forma en que la religión católica presente en la cultura colombiana castiga la autonomía e identidad femenina, impulsando la idea de la mujer como una criatura frágil y subyugada que debe pertenecer a lo doméstico. Adicionalmente, señala la falta de reconocimiento hacia las mujeres dentro de las esferas de la creación artística y el pensamiento, y el establecimiento de estándares de belleza occidentales que le permiten a las industrias convertir las inseguridades femeninas en productos comerciales. De este modo, se introduce la obra de arte Remendada, perfecta, donde se exponen, a través de los textiles, estas problemáticas que atraviesan a algunas mujeres contemporáneas. La construcción de las piezas se basa en una serie de experiencias personales, expresadas en la costura y el bordado. La materialidad textil fue fundamental para el desarrollo de la obra, ya que, históricamente, ha sido un arte atribuido a las mujeres. |
