Description
Summary:The activities of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Investment in Research and Development (R&D) generate economic growth each one separately. Is it possible that these two elements, when acting together, become a more powerful tool to generate economic growth? The effect of the interaction between FDI and R&D investment on the rate of economic growth is identified through the study of fixed-effect panel data for 51 nations from 1996 to 2018. The results of the exercise show that the joint action of FDI and R&D has a positive effect on the countries' economic growth. However, there is no conclusive evidence that the effect of the interaction is more powerful than that of the variables separately. --
