description Managing technological innovations in military environments enables the discovery, incubation, and acceleration of operational effectiveness, generating value and social impact. In military innovation, technological solutions have been adopted to complement the decision-making process in an environment overwhelmed with data, where analytical capacity does not grow at the same rate as storage capacity. Military environments involve multiple data sources, characterized by variety, veracity, velocity, and volume. These characteristics have challenges regarding information integration and confidentiality, where data-centric technologies like advanced analytics, data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence offer an opportunity to improve military processes. These technologies enable the generation of valuable and timely information for national interests. This research focuses on identifying innovation opportunities and using data-centric technologies as a complement to decision-making prior to deploying aerial means, in the phases of analyzing and processing information. As a result of this research, a literature review has been conducted, analyzing previous studies that have employed data-centric technologies for developing systems, architectures, and prototypes in military environments. Additionally, three open innovation exercises have been conducted with students from more than 19 universities in the country and cadets from the Military Aviation School to fine-tuned machine-learning models for processing images, videos, and texts produced by the Colombian Aerospace Force. These models have been improved to produce two software systems: one model automatically extracts entities from public and confidential reports with an accuracy metric above 88\%, and another model processes videos of the Colombian Amazon to identify roads, constructions, and vehicles with an accuracy of 85\%. The most recent open innovation exercise focuses on developing cybersecurity solutions to encrypt communications between spatial and ground assets. Additionally, an open innovation model has also been designed for military environments to generate high-impact solutions in these institutions. This model is based on developing technological challenges that define processes for ideating and maturing solutions, thus reducing uncertainty in technological prototypes' development, use, adoption, and evolution. These prototypes aim to improve the effectiveness of the analysis and processing of information relevant to the Colombian Aerospace Force.
