Summary: | In this project, the improvement of the overall efficiency of a Pump As Turbine (PAT) in a electric generation system was achieved. For the purpose of varying the geometrical parameters of the pump, the wáter inlet of the impeller was modified and characterizations for three different confugurations were made. This enabled the attainment of the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical parameters of the test bench as well as the best efficiency point. By this, the global efficiency was found to be directly proportional to the flow rate and inversly proportional to the resistive load connected to the generator. In addition, the CAD format of the impeller was generated for it to be used in future CFD simulations.--Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado. |
