Summary: | This project focuses on developing a web application that automates the 3D reconstruction of oral cavities from tomographies, with a primary focus on dental prosthetic technicians, dentists, and dental researchers. This innovation has the potential to revolutionize prosthetic dentistry by overcoming the limitations of conventional methods such as alginate and intraoral scanners, providing a more precise and efficient solution. To gain a deeper understanding of the perspectives of the studied population, an extensive literature review and interviews were conducted to learn firsthand about the challenges faced when creating removable prostheses. Therefore, the main objective is to significantly reduce the production time of removable full dental prostheses to enable technicians to serve more patients without compromising quality. Additionally, this web application will ensure a precise adaptation of the prostheses to the oral cavity, minimizing subsequent adjustments and improving user comfort. While prosthesis users will benefit indirectly by receiving higher-quality and more comfortable prostheses in less time, the primary focus is to enhance the efficiency and capacity of dental healthcare professionals to provide higher-quality care. Ultimately, this project has the potential to raise standards in the field of dentistry, accelerating dental care overall. |
