Summary:This research studies the effect of social conflicts on the accumulation of human capital. Social conflicts, which are increasingly recurrent and differ from armed conflicts, are generally associated with the suspension of school work. For this study, a new and rich source of data is used at the population center level for Peru. This information makes it possible to construct a panel data set by educational institution belonging to the populated centers between the years 2008 to 2016. Using a panel data regression methodology with fixed effects, the variation is exploited, through years and educational institutions, to estimate the effect of social conflicts on the accumulation of human capital.
