Description
Summary:This research describes the economic and social implications that the tariff war between China and the USA has produced in Latin America; This trade war started mainly because the former president of the United States imposed an imposition of 50,000 million dollars in tariffs on Chinese products, as he argued that the People's Republic of China was practicing unfair commercial activities; mainly with the theft of intellectual property and a forced transfer of American technology to China, in turn China was not far behind and applied tariffs to the main North American products. A trade war is the unarmed conflict between two or more countries, through protectionist measures that include the forced and direct imposition of tariff, tax and customs barriers, this in turn brings negative consequences to the countries that maintain the trade war because they make the price of products more expensive for buyers and indirectly make it impossible to commercialize certain goods and services, in addition to affecting the trade balance. In the present investigation the paradigm will be qualitative; with a desk review type study. A review of secondary sources will be carried out, the unit of analysis will be all the articles published in academic journals, indexed in Scopus, about the tariff war between the USA and China; the research results are complemented by duly cited articles, investigations and scientific journals.
