La genética dirigida basada en CRISPR-Cas9, es una innovación tecnológica en ingeniería genética que permite la introducción de rasgos genotípicos con la capacidad de transmitirse verticalmente. En consecuencia, generar poblaciones enteras que expresan ciertos rasgos. La magnitud del potencial de modificación a las características de los seres vivos que esta tecnología le ofrece al ser humano supone un conflicto bioético, ya que su uso implica modificar la vida misma. Con el objetivo de analizar los fundamentos bioéticos que justifican el ejercicio de este poder humano sobre la vida de otras especies y del medioambiente, se utilizó un enfoque desde la bioética narrativa para analizar un relato inspirado en el tercer episodio del documental “Selección antinatural”, dirigido por Joe Egender y Leeor Kaufman implementando la propuesta del biopoder de Michel Foucault, las líneas de pensamiento ambiental y el estatus moral. Se concluyó que el uso de una tecnología con tal capacidad de manipulación representa un ejercicio del biopoder desde la humanidad que se extiende a los vivientes no humanos y al medio ambiente, por ser una forma directa de control de los cuerpos de organismos y sus partes, logrando así, la capacidad de dominar y administrar la vida de los vivientes no humanos y el ambiente natural donde se desarrolla esa vida. |

The extent of modification potential that this technology offers humanity presents a significant bioethical conflict, as its use entails altering life itself. To analyze the ethical principles that might justify the exercise of such human power over the lives of other species and the environment, this study applied narrative bioethics to examine a story inspired by the third episode of the documentary Unnatural Selection, directed by Joe Egender and Leeor Kaufman, using Michel Foucault's concept of biopower.
