Este proyecto surge a raíz de una costumbre familiar. La tradición dicta que a los 23 años, la hija mayor recibirá como herencia un neceser. El objeto no puede abrirse antes de esta edad establecida. Mi madre lo recibió de su madre, quien lo recibió de mi abuela y así sucesivamente. Yo aún debo esperar un tiempo para conocer su contenido oculto. La necesidad de querer saber qué hay adentro detonó en una reflexión más amplia acerca de las realidades veladas que se encuentran dentro de algunos objetos. Esta inquietud inicial desembocó en un ejercicio plástico acerca del espacio vacío contenido en diferentes soportes como cajas de cartón, cofres, latas, entre otros útiles de nuestro cotidiano. He buscado materializar el vacío con yeso, resultando en cuerpos abstractos con huellas de pliegues, texturas, relieves y diferentes materias antes imperceptibles a los ojos. |

Tradition dictates that at 23 years of age, the oldest daughter will receive a cosmetic bag as an inheritance. The object cannot be opened before this set age. My mother received it from her mother, who received it from my grandmother and so on. I still have to wait a while to know its hidden content. The need to want to know what is inside detonated in a broader reflection about the veiled realities found within some objects. This initial concern led to a plastic exercise about the empty space contained in different supports such as cardboard boxes, chests, cans, among other useful items from our daily lives.
