Esta empresa farmacéutica esta orientada hacia el cuidado y el progreso de la salud humana a nivel mundial. (Política de Boehringer Ingelheim, 2006) Posee dos líneas de producción: Sólidos en el cual se producen medicamentos como pastillas, grageas, cápsulas, entre otros, aptas para el consumo humano y la línea de líquidos en la cual se fabrican medicinas como jarabes, sustancias antisépticas y desinfectantes para el uso y consumo humano. Esta compañía conforme a su política de salud, protección ambiental y seguridad industrial conduce su negocio con respeto y cuidado hacia el medio ambiente lo cual fue reconocido con la certificación en ISO 14000 de su Sistema de Administración Ambiental en el año 2004 y su posterior ratificación en el año 2005. Esta empresa consciente de su responsabilidad frente a la protección de sus colaboradores y del medio ambiente, tiene varios compromisos, los cuales consisten en; minimizar y controlar los riesgos sobre la salud de los colaboradores, los visitantes y la comunidad vecina, además, previene los efectos hostiles en el medio ambiente y promueve el uso eficiente de los recursos naturales , como también cumple con las normas establecidas por la legislación nacional vigente y las prácticas de responsabilidad integral. Por tal razón este laboratorio ha propuesto formular un esquema inicial de un plan de gestión integral de residuos peligrosos, conforme al decreto 4741 de Diciembre de 2005, ya que el Art. 10 específicamente trata de las obligaciones y responsabilidades del generador de los residuos peligrosos, el cual indica que; “se debe elaborar un Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos Peligros tendiente a prevenir la generación y reducción en la fuente, así como minimizar la cantidad y peligrosidad de los mismos”. |
