These issues compound the problems of environmental sustainability of the current food system which, together with increase in demand, lead to overexploitation of natural resources by requiring expansion of the agricultural frontier.   The Agronomía Colombiana journal publishes advances in knowledge generated at the technological level, for use by the scientific and academic communities and agricultural producers.
