Throughtout these months the rules and regulations of the society were composed and a handwritten copy survives, copied out by the Society's secretary, Domingo Antonio Maldonado. The rules and regulations were printed later on but the manuscript copy is a valuable historical document that contains the signatures of the founding members. The musician Andrés Martínez Montoya preserved this manuscript as well as the proceedings of the meetings of the early society. These documents allow us to view the genesis of the society.La orquesta de la Sociedad Filarmónica de Bogotá ofreció su primer concierto el 5 de enero de 1847, luego de tres meses de intensos preparativos. Durante estos meses también se conformó el reglamento de la sociedad, cuya copia manuscrita elaboró el secretario de la misma, Domingo Antonio Maldonado. El reglamento fue impreso posteriormente, pero el manuscrito contiene las firmas de sus primeros miembros y constituye un valioso legado histórico, conservado por la familia del músico Andrés Martínez Montoya, quien también guardó las actas de las primeras reuniones de la sociedad.
