Summary: | This piece presents the experience of several indigenous students of the Acre Federal University (ufac), in Brazil, as university students and Brazilian citizens. These statements were written by the members of the ufac’s Programa de Educação Tutorial (Program of Assisted Education), who felt the need to share their experiences with others. Taking into account the great difficulty for indigenous students to have access to university programs, this work aims to help other young Indian to see that it is possible to reduce the prejudices and discrimination against Indians, by valuing and respecting cultural, social and linguistic differences. |
