Emerging as a way to think collaborative encounters carefully prepared. This is ethnographic research about collaboration, about practices of co-creation in innovation and design practices. I conducted field work in the series of working sessions in which university A in Pereira, Colombia developed the activities proposed by university B in Nancy, France aimed at making a social innovation laboratory focused on climate change in the Latin American university. In this research I explore the multiple agencies that make the encounter, in the sessions, in addition to people, activities and things such as boards, sticky notes and software are part of the collaborative practice. Co-creation procedures shape power relations, the practice of listening, and the making of agreements. I also argue that power and listening are not mutually exclusive in a participatory exercise; co-creation procedures organize speaking times, turns, interruptions, questions and decision-making procedures. Likewise, I show how the practice generates agreements and disagreements in this decision making; recognizing partiality as a condition of agreements in the exercise of collaboration.
