Summary:There is a worldwide interest from companies dedicated to the generation and commercialization of electrical energy, in producing their electricity from renewable sources, using new technologies that are friendly to the planet. In addition, the increase in decentralized electricity production, plus the boom in efficient and environmental thinking among consumers, are factors that in the near future will seriously affect these companies. The central theme of this degree project is to propose the structure of a new business unit for the sale of energy derived from renewable sources. Initially, it will delve into various concepts related to new technologies that will drive the transformation of the electricity sector, such as Distributed Generation, Renewable Energy, Smart Grid, Microgrids and Smart Cities. The above will help to understand the relationship between each of these concepts and how the BlockChain technology, which is the object of study, will facilitate their integration, in order to make the distribution of electrical energy develop with a better degree of efficiency and universality. From the theoretical point of view, the bases that support this project will be the development and innovation of models or business units based on the BlockChain technology, which have a high degree of maturity, implemented in leading countries in renewable energies. Finally, the structure of the new business unit based on BlockChain technology will be proposed. For its development, the Hyperledger platform of IBM technology company will be used, because it has a series of advantages for large scale corporate projects. The proposed platform will be used for the commercialization of green energy in electrical microgrids and different products with environmental characteristics, in the area of influence of the Empresa Comercializadora de Colombia, under the modalities of auctions and peer to peer.
