Estudio de la calidad de lixiviado del relleno sanitario La Esmeralda y su respuesta bajo tratamiento en filtro anaerobio de flujo ascendente piloto

En este estudio se analizaron los lixiviados del relleno sanitario La Esmeralda en cuanto a calidad y cantidad de acuerdo a factores externos como clima y edad del vertedero del que provienen. Además se evaluó la respuesta de un tratamiento biológico (filtro anaerobio piloto de flujo ascendente) en continuo al ser operado con lixiviado crudo. Se realizaron una serie de muestreos compuestos a los lixiviados viejos y nuevos, tanto en invierno como en verano, esto permitió conocer los efectos de dichos factores sobre la carga y la concentración. Para estudiar el comportamiento del FAFA, se construyó un sistema en tres etapas inoculado con estiércol de vaca. Se hizo seguimiento de variables biológicas como DBO, DQO, SSV y parámetros fisicoquímicos como pH, temperatura, color, turbiedad, entre otros. El sistema se operó para tiempos de retención hidráulico (TRH) de 36 y 42horas, obteniéndose mejores remociones para el segundo caso, con eficiencias de hasta 98% en la carga de DBO y 90% en carga de DQO. / Abstract: In this Studio it was analizated the quality and quantity of the leachate generated in laEsmeralda Landfill of Manizales, according to external agents like weather and age of the dump from where it comes. Besides it was evaluated the response of a continuos biologic system (ARFRF) when it was operated with hard leachate. Many samples were taken from the leachate of the old dump site as well as the leachate of the new dump site, these samples were taken in summer and winter, showing the effect of these factors over the polluting load and the concentration of the leachate. To study the performance of the anaerobic filter with rising flow (AFRF) a stage system was built inoculated with cow manure. Biological variables were observed such as OBD, OQD, VSS and physicochemistry parameters like pH, temperature, color, turbidy, among others. The system was operated during a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 36 and 42 hours obtaining the best removals on the second case, with efficiency up to 98% for OBD load and 90% for OQD load.
