The need to classify in differentiated entities according to its symptomatology resuIts in problems related to interpretation and to the securities that may offer the psychoanalytic methodology. The response to these questions is mainly raised from an ethical point of view rather than technical prescriptions that should supposedly secure the purity of interpretation.El cambio que Freud introduce en la clínica de la histeria es planteado en este escrito en términos de traslado del problema del campo de la mirada que clasifica o que busca en el cuerpo, al campo de la escucha. Desde el momento en que alguien está dispuesto a escucharla, la histeria deja de ser espectáculo y se transforma en discurso que puede ser interpretado. La necesidad  de clasificación en entidades diferenciadas por sus manifestaciones sintomáticas, da paso a los problemas referidos a la interpretación y a las garantías que sobre ella puede ofrecer el método psicoanalítico.
