The article concludes with a comparison between the national program Families in Action of the Álvaro Uribe Vélez government, and the local program Family Policies: 2006-2008 developed in Bogotá DC while Luis Eduardo Garzón´s mayoralty.El artículo trata de la orientación de las políticas para las familias en Colombia, profundizando en sus distintos enfoques y el contexto social en el cual se inscriben. Así mismo, se enfatiza en la orientación de las políticas, el ideal de familia, la concepción sobre desarrollo económico y la división sexual que se atribuye a cada género.
