Description
Summary:Bike-sharing systems (BSS) and Bike-sharing programs (BSP) have been implemented around the globe in the last decade for its benefits and for changing the paradigm that the car is not the main mode of transportation of urban areas. For that reason, one of the most important elements which needs to be well planned is the location of the bike stations. This research evaluates the location of the bike stations of a BSP in a small city from Colombia, based on the location system’s users. Additionally, two proposals are shown to get a better understanding of how the BSP was planned and consolidated. The results were obtained with a Location-allocation model which assigns each user that is within an impedance value from each station.
