It describes a fundarnent of museography: the minimum syntax of the object language. After contemplating a definition of museography from the viewpoints of the nature of the objects that are collected the space of the museum, the staging resources and the curator's communicative intentions, the essay proceeds to deal with the pedagogical implications of museography in the context of Umberto Eco 's semiotics. The author analizes some strategies and pedagogical pratices used by the team of the Educational and Cutural Section of the Colombian National Museum.Este ensayo escrito originalmente como una ponencia que se presentó en el seminario Museo: historia, memoria, pensamiento (marzo-mayo de 2003), organizado por la Facultad de filosofía de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana y el Museo Nacional de Colombia describe la sintaxis mínima del lenguaje objetual que es fundamento de la museografía. Después de reflexionar sobre una definición de la museografía vista según la naturaleza de los objetos coleccionados, el espacio museal, los recursos escenográficos y la intención comunicativa de los curadores, el ensayo aborda las implicaciones pedagógicas de la museografía en el ámbito de las teorías de la lectura elaborada por la semiótica de Umberto Eco.
