Summary: | The article analyzes the reactions of sectors of the Spanish society towards the Law of Historical Memory (LMH, in Spanish) approved on the 31st October 2007, after numerous deliberations and amendments. The Law is the result of a long process of discussions and polemics on the recovery of the historical memory and reparation of victims of the Civil Spanish War and Franco’s regime. The authoress presents the reactions of political, religious and academic sectors as well as the victims themselves towards this Law, viewed as insufficient by many of them. |
