Resultados: Se incluyeron 28 intervenciones en 26 pacientes que cumplían los criterios de inclusión con la siguiente distribución: 11 intervenciones en el grupo de reemplazo articular, 12 en el grupo de trapeciectomía, 5 en el grupo de artroplastia, donde se encontró una mejoría significativa respecto al estado preoperatorio del dolor y la movilidad del pulgar (escala Kapandji) con las diferentes técnicas quirúrgicas, sin diferencias significativas entre los subgrupos de intervención en la funcionalidad evaluada en escala DASH y TDX, dolor POP, adicionalmente una diferencia significativa en el tiempo de incapacidad laboral con mayor tiempo para reintegro laboral en los pacientes llevados a reemplazo articular. Conclusiones: La realización de reemplazo articular, trapeciectomía y artroplastia son técnicas quirúrgicas efectivas para el manejo del dolor y funcionalidad como parte del tratamiento de la artrosis trapecio-metacarpiana, sin evidenciar superioridad en ninguna de las técnicas, sin embargo, con mayor tiempo de incapacidad y reintegro laboral en los pacientes sometidos a reemplazo articular. (Texto tomado de la fuente).Purpose: The aim of this study is to record the outcomes of different surgical interventions, performed in the same care center, and to assess whether there are significant differences between the intervention groups in terms of thumb pain or functionality. Methods: A retrospective descriptive cross-sectional study was performed in a single follow-up center, of all patients with a diagnosis of trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis taken to surgical intervention, over a 10-year period (2011-2021), where the outcomes of the different surgical managements were compared (joint replacement, trapeziectomy, interposition arthroplasty), evaluating functionality during late POP follow-up (greater than 6 months), pre- and postoperative pain with the visual analog pain scale (VAS), as well as complications and the need for reoperation in each group of patients. Results: 28 interventions were included in 26 patients who met the inclusion criteria with the following distribution: 11 interventions in the joint replacement group, 12 in the trapeziectomy group, 5 in the arthroplasty group, where a significant improvement was found regarding the preoperative status of pain and thumb mobility (Kapandji scale) with the different surgical techniques, without significant differences between the intervention subgroups in the functionality evaluated in DASH and TDX scale, POP pain, additionally a significant difference in the time of work incapacity with longer time for reintegration to work in patients taken to joint replacement.
