Summary:In the light of feminist art theory, this paper analyzesthe critique of the ideal if domestic life by the Germanbornphotographer Grete Stern. Her works appeared inthe column «The psychoanalysis will help you» of Idilio(1948-51), an Argentinian magazine. In a context ofadvances and setbacks lived by Argentinian womenof that period, Grete Stern exposed –through photomontages,unusual at that time, the cracks in the patterns ofdomesticity imposed to women as well as their aspirationsand frustrations.
