At the same time, this article questions the manner in which “La Violencia” is portrayed in textbooks of political formation and in terms of political culture.El artículo postula la existencia, desde aproximadamente mediados de siglo xx hasta ahora, de tres generaciones de textos escolares conforme a la manera como es abordado en estos el período histórico conocido como La Violencia. Además, examina los manuales escolares y sus narrativas en relación con las coyunturas políticas y las características de la industria editorial como determinantes en la forma como es ocultada, minimizada, problematizada o negada la confrontación de mediados de siglo.
