Description
Summary:This final master's work in urban design concentrates its attention on both the disarticulation between urban interventions as a result of the insertion of mass transport systems and the transformation of the related urban space that rises of this type of projects, and the wasting of the virtues of mobility to achieve a comprehensive reconfiguration of the city. Given that in twenty years of operation and expansion of the mass transport system in Bogotá, there have been no significant urban advances that achieve this purpose and taking into account the implementation of the project Primera Linea del Metro de Bogotá (PLMB), it is very desirable to find urban design tools to achieve this connection. Building from a theoretical guiding perspective called Desarrollo y Diseño Urbano Asociados a la Movilidad (DDUAM) is possible to give a diagnosis and intervention scheme for urban parts adjacent to transport infrastructure, which is useful as an evaluation instrument in paradigmatic projects and thus it can be apply in Bogotá’s Avenida Caracas and specifically in the area of influence of a metro station as a case study. To achieve this purpose the urban space of the Calle 72 metro station was selected as a study and design application area to the extent that it is consolidated as a centrality; in which today and in the future with the implementation of the PLMB will hold the biggest volumes of trips due to the crucial urban activities in the area. In that sense and in accordance of DDUAM, up to 26 urban design guidelines associated with the spatial physical response of mobility functions are obtained, and will be use as articulating tools for decision-making, planning and city design from the approach of mass transit projects.
