This article is a contribution on religion in anthropological terms and opens new perspectives to regard the Christian faith as a transcendent dimension that manifests itself on the pathway to social justice.A la luz de la teoría mimética de René Girard la vida y obra del humorista Jaime Garzón se presenta como una acción profética que devela las causas de la violencia en Colombia. Celebrar la memoria de este artista se erige en un deber ciudadano: un instrumento que contribuye a formar una opinión pública ilustrada y un pensamiento por la paz enraizado en la cultura del país.
