| Summary: | This article presents a synthesis of the current situation of higher education in Colombia, analyzes the proposals of the Development Plan 1998-2002 in light of that synthesis, and concludes that the plan does not address any of the large problems that affect the country´s higher education system. The plan is limited, in an obstinate and myopic way, to justifying the reduction of the participation of the State in financing public education at the higher level. |
