Planteamiento del problema: las displasias esqueléticas conllevan características físicas y del neurodesarrollo que pueden poner en riesgo la salud mental y condicionar a que la enfermedad empeore. Es innegable la existencia de áreas de estudio que requieren de la investigación observacional y experimental para brindar al paciente una terapia holística. Objetivo: describir, desde el punto de vista morfológico, las diferentes displasias esqueléticas en pacientes diagnosticados con acondroplasia, agremiados en la Asociación Pequeños Gigantes de Colombia, y su relación con el contexto personal y social, en un proyecto audiovisual de corte documental. Metodología: se realizó una investigación de tipo exploratoria/descriptiva, adoptando una combinación de métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos. La información fue obtenida utilizando como técnica de investigación la entrevista semiestructurada y como instrumento de recolección de información una encuesta. Resultados: la calidad de vida para las personas con acondroplasia se ve mermada con el paso de los años, condiciones como la estatura baja, el dolor crónico, la movilidad limitada, dificultad al caminar y una mayor predisposición a aumentar de peso; supone un freno para realizar actividades diarias (individuales y colectivas), la dificultad en el acceso estructural y arquitectónico y el tratar con temas estigmatizantes a nivel social. Conclusión: Estas complicaciones tienen un impacto absoluto en todos los aspectos de la vida de los afectados, lo cual va más allá de lo que la evidencia actual aborda. Por tanto, resulta imperativo priorizar el estudio de esta condición a través de un proyecto destinado a reducir la brecha de conocimiento existente. Statement of the problem: skeletal dysplasias entail physical and neurodevelopmental characteristics that can put mental health at risk and cause the disease to worsen. The existence of areas of study that require observational and experimental research to provide the patient with holistic therapy is undeniable. Objective: to describe, from a morphological point of view, the different skeletal dysplasias in patients diagnosed with achondroplasia, members of the Little Giants Association of Colombia, and their relationship with the personal and social context, in a documentary audiovisual project. Methodology: exploratory/descriptive research was carried out, adopting a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The information was obtained using the semi-structured interview as a research technique and a survey as a data collection instrument. Results: the quality of life for people with achondroplasia is diminished over the years, conditions such as short stature, chronic pain, limited mobility, difficulty walking and a greater predisposition to gain weight; It represents a brake on carrying out daily activities (individual and collective), the difficulty in structural and architectural access and dealing with stigmatizing issues at a social level. Conclusion: these conditions have an absolute impact on all aspects of the lives of those affected, which goes beyond what current evidence addresses. Therefore, it is imperative to prioritize the study of this condition through a project aimed at reducing the existing knowledge gap. Dado que se buscaba ampliar el marco teórico existente respecto a la calidad de vida de los individuos que presentan acondroplasia y los factores que influyen directamente en esta enfermedad, se hizo un estudio evaluativo con un enfoque específico en la población colombiana de la que hay poca información disponible. La elección de la muestra se hizo de manera intencional y razonada, partiendo de la base de diez (10) agremiados de la Asociación Pequeños Gigantes de Colombia, con quienes se concertó su participación con la ayuda del presidente y representante legal de dicha institución, teniendo en cuenta criterios de selección como contar con la mayoría de edad, poseer pleno uso de sus facultades mentales, pertenecer a la Asociación y contar con disponibilidad de tiempo para cumplir con las fechas y actividades estipuladas para el rodaje. La obtención de los resultados no dependió del tamaño de la muestra, sino de la cantidad y calidad de información que aportaron las personas involucradas en este proyecto. La combinación de métodos (cualitativo y cuantitativo) se hizo de manera simultánea.
